## Questions about our pricing:

- **How are the fees taken from my account?**

Fees are taken right from your Betterment Investing account at the end of each month. No action is required on your part, and we'll never charge fees if you don't have a balance. Our fees are calculated based on your daily balance of assets under management and assessed monthly, and add up to $5/month or 0.25% annually for investing accounts, and 0.65% for our Premium plan.

- **Are there discounts if I hold a high balance?**

Yes. If your eligible household investing balance exceeds $1 million, you’ll receive a discount on Betterment’s management fee.

- **$1–$2 million**: 0.15% (15 bps) annual fee on the portion within this tier
  - **Over $2 million**: 0.10% (10 bps) annual fee on the portion above $2 million

These discounted rates apply automatically to your eligible investing balances. The Premium benefits still apply above $1 million, even though the additional 0.40% Premium fee is not charged beyond the first $1 million.

- **How does Premium pricing work?**

Premium requires a minimum eligible investment balance of $100,000 and offers access to financial experts and exclusive benefits. The annual advisory fee is 0.65% on the first $1M, which consists of a 0.25% Digital base fee and an additional 0.40% Premium fee. Eligible investing dollars greater than $1M are charged at a discounted rate of:

- $1–$2M: 0.15%
  - $2M+: 0.10%

**Premium benefits still apply, without the added cost, for dollars over $1M.** Fees are calculated daily based on your balance and assessed monthly. They are automatically deducted from your investing account. Only eligible investment accounts are included in the balance calculation to reach these fee discounts.

- **What counts towards the minimum balance for Premium?**

Premium requires a minimum of $100,000 in eligible investments with Betterment per household to upgrade and maintain eligibility in the plan. Assets can be in your IRA, HSA, Solo 401(k) and taxable investing accounts.

- **Are there fees on deposits, withdrawals, or ETFs?**

Betterment will construct your portfolio with ETFs, a type of security that generally tracks a broad-market stock or bond index but trades like a stock on a listed exchange, and these ETFs have embedded fund fees. Betterment does not receive any portion of these fund fees and these fees are in addition to our management fees ($5/month, 0.25% annually for Digital, and 0.65% annually for Premium).

- **Does it cost more to get additional help if I need it?**

Our Customer Support Team is available at no additional cost to help you with any technical or account management questions.
